In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming entertainment, Kid Rock has stepped up to share his thoughts on the matter. The rocker known for his outspoken takes was recently asked to share his thoughts on AI’s growing influence in music, particularly after hearing an AI-assisted track made by a group of tech creators.
Kid Rock responds
When asked what he thought of an AI-generated song, Kid Rock didn’t hold back.
“I thought it was average. You might want to stick in the tech lane,” he said, delivering his signature blunt assessment.
The interviewer noted that technology and entertainment are inevitably colliding, raising the question of how musicians feel about an industry where algorithms can compose and even mimic human voices. Kid Rock acknowledged the shift, admitting he’s curious about AI, but he also expressed a deep respect for the craft of songwriting.
“The songwriters, I have, you know, a special place in my heart for them,” he explained. “I don’t know how it works out for them. Like, there might have to be some legislation there or whatnot. Maybe for artists too.”
Despite those concerns, Kid Rock made it clear he isn’t standing in the way of technological change.
“I’m not against it, but I don’t think we need to be unreasonable about something we can’t stop.”
In fact, he went a step further — suggesting that artists might benefit from embracing it rather than fighting it.
“My attitude personally is, like, if a hundred thousand people want to be out there writing songs with my intellectual property, whatever, my voice — go for it.”
