KISS guitar icon goes to hospital
KISS guitar legend Ace Frehley has corrected his own social media manager’s report about his hospitalization. The first statement read: “Dear Rock Soldiers,
Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital.
He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time.
As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th.
Please go to the fair to support his friends in Quiet Riot and Vixen, and Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, ‘Origins Vol. 4.”
A followup post stated, “Ace just called to inform me that I made a mistake on the announcement by calling his next album ‘Origins Vol. 4’ instead of ‘Origins Vol. 3’ … LOL! The corrected version is below! Get well soon, Ace! — John Ostronomy.”
KISS unmasked reunion is coming
Ace Frehley won’t be part of the upcoming KISS unmasked reunion, but another name from the past will be. Bruce Kulick recently shared details about his upcoming involvement in KISS Unmasked shows. He confirmed his participation in the special performances, as reported by Ultimate Classic Rock.
Bruce Kulick opens up on his role
The former KISS guitarist discussed his role in the upcoming shows and what fans can expect from the performances.
“I’ll be joining them on some songs. We haven’t [figured out a] set list yet. It’s a little too far away, but I’m excited about that,” Kulick said.
“I did that quite a few times on the [past cruises], both electric and acoustic.”
Kulick also disclosed the broader scope of the planned event.
“But right now, for sure, I’m involved with that night, at which they plan on having a lot of special guests,” he continued.
The shows are expected to feature multiple guest appearances alongside Kulick’s participation. This upcoming performance marks another chapter in Kulick’s long-standing relationship with KISS, during which he made significant contributions to a pivotal era in the band’s history.
Kulick served as KISS’s lead guitarist for 12 years during the non-makeup era, contributing to several gold and platinum albums and performing hundreds of live shows worldwide. His time with the band was characterized by consistent, high-energy performances that upheld KISS’s legacy following Ace Frehley’s departure.
In addition to his work with KISS, Kulick has toured with Meat Loaf and formed the band Blackjack with Michael Bolton. These experiences enriched his musical background beyond his time with the legendary rock band and helped shape the versatile guitar style that fans appreciated during his years with KISS.
