Mike Shinoda opens up on upcoming shows

Shinoda has stated that the shows will feature a setlist that is over two hours in length and production that took the band a long time to figure it out and perfect. He is excited & thankful that the presales have been popular with LPU fans.

Linkin Park recently announced a new album ‘From Zero’, and shared a new single ‘The Emptiness Machine’ which marks their first new music since the loss of Chester Bennington in 2017. The band has also announced a short world tour beginning this month. It will see six arena shows across the world between September and November this year.

The tour will kick off at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 11th. Other stops include New York, Germany, London, South Korea and Colombia. Linkin Park’s LP Underground fan club pre-sales began on September 6th and general tickets go live on September 7th. Some fans have also shared their opinion on the expensive ticket prices. The band is set to release their upcoming album on November 15th.

On September 5, Linkin Park announced their comeback through a live stream event where they performed with two new members – vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.

During the live stream event, the band performed several hits. Following an intro that included bits of “Castle of Glass” and “The Requiem,” the band performed “The Emptiness Machine,” which will be the lead single to From Zero. They performed the song live for the first time. Armstrong appeared onstage midway through the song to deliver her second verse, as a reveal of who would be joining Mike Shinoda as the band’s other lead vocalist.

Linkin Park then performed a mix of their biggest hits (“In the End,” “Numb,” “Crawling”) and fan favorites (“Lying From You,” “Waiting for the End”). They also gave “Lost,” the re-discovered single from their Meteora 20th anniversary set last year, its live debut, with Armstrong leading a piano version of the top 40 hit.

The band will kick off its six-date arena tour next Wednesday (Sept. 11), in Los Angeles. Until then, check out the setlist to Thursday’s intimate performance below:
