Mike Shinoda, who is obviously the heart and soul of Linkin Park now, recently wrote an update on his journal on August 12th this year, where he informed fans that he has been locked away in the lab for a while, in between two Summer trips. He teased fans by stating that he had lots of exciting things planned for them, which many are speculating to be a Linkin Park reunion.
Mike’s Journal /// 2024 – Aug 12
Hey everyone! I’ve been locked away in the lab for a while, in between a couple summer trips. So many exciting things planned for you.
Since Chester Bennington’s death, there have been rumors that Linkin Park might continue with a new singer. Recently, the podcast State Of The Scene suggested that the band could soon announce new concert dates, possibly including a show at Sonic Temple.
While nothing is confirmed, fans have been guessing who the new singer might be. Some names mentioned include Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, Andy Cizek from Monuments, Dave Stephens from We Came As Romans, and Sam Carter from Architects. The Gunz Show hinted that the rumors might be true, but didn’t confirm anything about Sonic Temple. More details are expected to come out on their show on Wednesday.
There are also reports that Linkin Park might tour in 2025 with a female singer. A source told Billboard that the band is looking for a woman to lead them. Jay Gordon from Orgy also mentioned hearing rumors about a Linkin Park reunion.
It’s still unclear whether the band is looking for a female singer or someone from hardcore music. We should hear more soon. In fact, the first Linkin Park reunion show might have been revealed.
