The heavy metal band Slipknot have been around for ages, and it would seem that Aussie actress, who began her career in Australian soap operas is a major fan of the bizarre rockers. Recently, Robbie absolutely flipped out over the band. For more, let’s delve in a little deeper.
As per Ultimate Guitar, at a time when mainstream recognition of heavy metal seems to be few and far, Hollywood actress Margot Robbie waxed euphoric about her love of Corey Taylor and Slipknot (among other things) on national television, doubling down even after she received (half) jokingly snide comments by fellow Aussie actress Cate Blanchett.
Granted, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, “Suicide Squad” and “Harley Quinn” star has never kept her love for heavy music secret. She previously discussed her love on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and Nick Grimshaw’s morning show on BBC Radio 1, to name a few examples.
The subject came up again during her recent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” when the Aussie actress was asked if she was a “goth” growing up. She said (via Loudwire):
“I don’t know if I was a full goth. Very emo though, and I listened to, like, only heavy metal music.
“I would dye my hair black and only cut it with a razor blade….so yeah, kinda goth.”
Cate Blanchett, who was also guesting on the show, half-jokingly asked:
“Does anyone like heavy metal music? Was that something you genuinely liked?”
Robbie replied:
“I genuinely – and I still genuinely like it. Yeah.”
To which Blanchett added:
“Do you like monster trucks and things like that?”
