Mark Lanegan has sadly died, and below you can see the Mark Lanegan last photo from one of his final performances. Lanegan’s Twitter said, “ “Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan passed away this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland,” reads a statement on his Twitter account. “A beloved singer, songwriter, author and musician he was 57 and is survived by his wife Shelley. No other information is available at this time. The family asks everyone to respect their privacy at this time.”

A fan named Jake on Reddit wrote, “ This make me so, so sad. Almost no musician has touched me more than Mark. He’s one of those artists whose music seems like it was tailor made just for me, impressive even more considering just how broad his palate was, from folk to hard rock to electronic and New Wave. His voice and his songs have always been exactly what my brain needed to hear to feel better, or just to feel more, about things.

It’s amazing he made it through all he did already, by his own admission and those who knew him. I can’t bear that his life is over and he will never have more art to give us. I met him several times at shows and he always seemed quiet and humble, almost shy, but also grateful for all the support he had from fans, something it took him a while to really appreciate from what I recall him saying in an interview once. Time to frame and hang up that one concert poster I had him autograph. Okay, I’m just going to be sad for a while now, peace.”
