Maynard James Keenan Reveals If Surprise Tool Album Release Is Imminent

As everyone on the internet reported a couple of days ago, Maynard James Keenan announced on Twitter that he has finished recording vocals for the new Tool album.

“Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking.”

Interestingly, a fan named Chuck then tweeted Keenan asking if Tool could release the new album as a surprise on a random Friday without any advertisement or promotion.

“I feel like the album is just going to drop on some random Friday with no warning or promo and we are all just going to lose our minds.”

Keenan responded, “No.” So it looks like we will get a major leadup to the new Tool album, and not a surprise April Fools Day release like many fans had hoped for. Maynard James Keenan has had a busy last couple of years, releasing Eat the Elephant with A Perfect Circle last year, releasing a new album with Tool at some point in 2019, and planning a new Puscifer album for next year. In addition to that, he also spends months winemaking!

Hey, Brett…literally no useful information can ever be gleaned from any of your bullshit clickbait articles. Get a real job.

    • Corndog

The guy is getting paid by working for himself doing his dream job…..

Why don’t you get a real job, genius.

      • shenrockk

        These articles are absolute shit.

EDIT: Am someone who has a real job.

        • Corndog

Shit or not shit, my previous statement to the last poster stands. While she’s punching her 9 to 5 time clock Brett is doing what he wants when he wants and no one tells him what to do as he’s his own boss. Sounds like a pretty damn ‘real’ job to me. I wish my job was that real!

          • shenrockk

Why do I have the feeling that you’re Brett? Eh doesn’t matter, your website sucks at the end of the day. Your existence is solely on clickbait and writing articles that take what, 10 minutes to write? Of all the websites I can read on music news this is the worst one I’ve ever come across and you all know you can’t even defend it’s shit integrity.

          • Jolly.jester13

So you and Rachel are Vigilantes of clickbait? So at the end of the day you both are dogging on a man just doing what he does. How’s that make you feel. Like you bigger now, like you got some type of purpose. Not cuz at the end of the day your opinion means just as much as a dead man’s opinion. So get back to y’all real jobs, and I’ll get back to my two.

          • Corndog

Actually if you can read you’ll note it was the original poster that brought up real jobs, not me, and no, I am not Brett. When you see the username ‘alternative nation’ that’s Brett. Brett lives in America, I’ve never even been to America.

Hey man if you think this place is pathetic then by all means pick up your shit and leave. Don’t let the door hit you in the way out.

          • Corndog

Upvoting your own posts now? Eeeuuwww. That’s nasty. Don’t be that guy.

          • mikesmaddie

            Corndog isn’t Brett.

          • Ryan

That is a fair enough comment, but this site relies on readers such as myself. On numerous occasions Brett has been given feedback on his ‘writing’, but he chooses to ignore his audience which of course he shouldn’t. He should take the criticisms on board to try and imrove this site; with the clickbait titles being a very good example that he needs to ditch.

Brett needs to know his limits, and quality writing is one of them. There’s nothing wrong with that, he just needs to find other people to write for him.

          • Corndog

I totally understand where you’re coming from and I don’t even necessarily disagree about the articles, but the bottom line is that this is the guys source of income and he insists that the site is more successful now than it used to be when the articles had more substance. You can’t blame him for doing whatever puts more money in his pocket.

For me personally this site has always been more about the conversation under the articles rather than the articles themselves.

          • Ryan

Yep that’s cool but I hope because of this Brett understands he’ll receive a lot of criticism from readers, as the articles can be extremely frustrating with the usually misleading headlines.

I, and probably lots of other readers might appreciate Brett’s feedback on the criticism thrown his way.

            Anyway, take it easy.

          • Corndog

I honestly don’t think Brett really cares what the folks in the comments section think. I’ve never seen him tackle anyone that has been talking shit about him. It’s usually me that does that. Actually, I generally just delete comments like that when I come across them. I get that some people don’t like the site or the articles and they can talk about that all they want, but I won’t stand for some of the vile personal attacks people make against Brett personally. Bizarre as it sounds; and I know it does, but I feel strangely protective of him in that respect. The guy is just trying to get by like the rest of us and shouldn’t have to be abused for doing so.

            You too man. Good luck:)

You forgot to upvote yourself on this one.

As for your article, I’ve read it. It has nothing to do with who I work for. I don’t work here. Pretty sure Ryan doesn’t either.

        • Corndog

You upvoted this one too?? Christ that’s a wee bit on the pathetic side man. Are you that desperate for validation that you’ll even manufacturer it yourself?
