Metallica Sphere Dates Spark Booking Claims

Metallica’s newly expanded run at Las Vegas’ Sphere has ignited fresh debate online after a ticketing-focused X account alleged the band already had additional dates locked in before the venue announced them as demand-driven additions. The dispute comes as the band’s Sphere shows continue to draw massive interest, with fans closely watching how and when dates are rolled out.

In a post announcing more concerts, Sphere said six additional Metallica shows were added for Oct. 8 and 10, Nov. 5 and 7, and Jan. 28 and 30, citing “overwhelming demand,” with presale access beginning March 5 and general on-sale set for March 6.

Shortly after, the account @Ticket_Help2022 claimed it had heard Metallica already had Sphere dates “confirmed and booked” for February and March, and criticised what it described as a staggered release strategy that could benefit brokers and queue bots. The post did not provide documentation for the assertion, and neither Metallica nor Sphere has publicly addressed the claim beyond the venue’s demand-based framing of the added dates.

The rollout has also renewed scrutiny of the overall ticketing experience for big Vegas residencies, including high add-on costs; Alternative Nation recently reported on Metallica charging ‘hundreds’ in Vegas ticket fees as fans weighed the true price of entry.

For now, the only confirmed additions are the six newly listed Sphere dates, while any potential February and March bookings remain unverified online chatter. With presales and general on-sales scheduled within days, fans will quickly see whether further dates emerge through official channels.
