Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins shockingly passed away at the age of 50. The band was due to play on the same day of his death. They were scheduled to play at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia. This led to the band reportedly canceling the rest of their South American tour. It turns out Miley Cyrus is also in the middle of a tour in South America and she performed on Saturday night at Loollapalooza Brazil.

She had a close friendship with Taylor Hawkins and was reportedly crying as she arrived to the premises where the festival was taking place. Instead of not attending the show, Miley Cyrus decided to keep the show going.

Miley Cyrus gets emotional

The artist recently referred to the emergency landing she and her crew had to do only a few days ago when lightning struck her private plane. Everybody in the flight made it safe but Miley Cyrus didn’t make it to her show in Paraguay. Cyrus called Taylor Hawkins during the emergency landing. Then the tragedy happened with Taylor Hawkins and everything took a different perspective.

At the very start of her performance, she said: “We had to make this emergency landing and the first person I called was Taylor (Hawkins) because he was already at the festival. And that would’ve been the time that I would’ve gotten to see my friend and I didn’t so it makes me really sad. I would’ve done anything to hang out with him one more time,” said Miley as she was holding her tears.

After images of Miley crying before the show and during were dropped on social media, she also posted a heartfelt tweet in which she dedicated her entire performance in Brazil for TaylorHawkins. This is what she wrote: “Tonight’s show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins. The most bad ass dude I know who would want me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of rock n roll! I’ve got this with a little help from my friend TH above & all of you. Let’s do it!”
