Zildjian, a highly respected musical instrument company, called the 1990’s the ‘Dave Grohl era’ in a new poll. Being nearly 400 years old, Zildjian is one of the oldest companies in the world.

The Avedis Zildjian Company, simply known as Zildjian, is an American-based cymbal manufacturer founded in Constantinople (present-day Istanbul, Turkey) by Armenian Avedis Zildjian in the 17th century. It is now based in Norwell, Massachusetts. Being nearly 400 years old, Zildjian is one of the oldest companies in the world. Zildjian also sells drum-related accessories, such as drum sticks and cymbal carriers. It is the largest cymbal manufacturer in the world.

The ‘Dave Grohl Era’ was part of a new poll the company put out.

Before 1950 is the Gene Krupa Era, the 1950’s are the Buddy Rich Era, the 1960’s are the Ringo Starr Era, the 1970’s is the Keith Moon Era, the 1980’s is the Jeff Porcaro Era, and the 2000’s is the Travis Barker Era.

C’mon man. I’d like more context to understand the reasoning here. That makes no sense. They should put a pic of a heroin needle as that was the Era.

I’m sorry. But back in the 90’s, people hardly knew Dave Grohl by his name. He was refer to as “the drummer of Nirvana”.Awesome drummer ,no doubt about that. If anything , it was the Layne /Eddie/Kurt/ Chris era. No “the Dave Grohl era”. He was almost replaced during the unplugged show ,because he wasn’t getting the tune Kurt wanted. So, no. It was no his era.

Read the rest of the list, they’re referring to the most popular drummer at the time. Hmmm… Grohl could be though Matt Cameron could also be the drummer of the era
