The former Motley Crue member John Corabi has played with a number of bands during his illustrious career, including Union, Eric Singer Project, and the supergroup Brides of Destruction. He is primarily remembered for his contributions and stint with Motley Crue as “The Other Mötley Crüe Frontman.” He had filled in for Vince Neil from 1992 to 1996, and contributed to the band’s titular 1994 studio album.

However, Corabi seems to be perfectly at peace with the cards he was dealt – and the quoted phrase appears as part of Corabi’s new memoirs’ title. Similarly, the musician recently explained how he feels nothing but gratitude to his former bandmates, and occasionally talks with every Mötley Crüe member bar Nikki Sixx – and only because Nikki apparently won’t talk to him.

John Corabi reveals discontent in relationship with Nikki Sixx

It seems that the reason behind Sixx’s discontentment with Corabi was an interview the singer did more than a decade ago, where the singer said that parts of the bassist’s autobiography “The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star” felt “colored”. Corabi recalled that particular interview during a recent chat with The SDRShow, Corabi said:

“It’s funny – and I think this is part of the reason why Nikki is so butthurt with me right now, for the last 10 years or so. But I wasn’t taking a slag out of the book. I was like, ‘Hey, it’s a good read!’ You know what I mean? …And to be honest with you, I’ve never done – people laugh, but I’ve never done cocaine, meth, heroin, like none of that shit. So when the guy asked me – I don’t know if the guy was baiting me or what the deal was – he asked me a question. And I said, ‘Well, parts of the dirt were colored,’ right? Absolutely colored. And I said, ‘So I would imagine…’

“I didn’t mean it to be a dig – and he took offense to it. And – I sent him an e-mail back, because we had this little beef via e-mail. And he sent me this thing, and he’s like, ‘I don’t appreciate you fucking slag in my book and blah, blah, blah.’ And, I just told him, ‘Did you read the whole interview?’ That’s all. And then the second thing I said was, ‘Why do you give a fuck about anything I have to say?'”

John Corabi is currently preparing to release his memoirs titled “Horseshoes and Hand Grenades: Tales from the Other Mötley Crüe Frontman and Journeys through a Life In and Out of Rock and Roll”
