A Nine Inch Nails fan took to Reddit to vent frustrations over what they described as an “unhinged” attendee who tainted the final moments of what had otherwise been a perfect tour-closing concert.
Fan lashes out after Nine Inch Nails show gets ruined
According to the post, the disruptive individual allegedly spent much of the night forcing their way to the front of the pit, cutting past fans who had secured spots early. When challenged, the fan claimed, the person tried multiple times to wedge into space along the rail, sparking anger from others in the crowd.
The situation reportedly escalated during the encore, with the disruptive attendee shouting insults during “The Perfect Drug,” and later, during “I’m Afraid of Americans,” accusing others of being racist and MAGA supporters. The poster alleged the person screamed over the music during “The Hand That Feeds” and threatened security staff after they attempted to intervene.
By the time Nine Inch Nails reached their set-ending staples “Head Like a Hole” and “Hurt,” the fan said the incident had overshadowed the show’s great vibe. “Trent waited a few minutes to start ‘Hurt’ because he was clearly distracted by your antics during ‘Head Like a Hole,’” the post read.
The Reddit user, a longtime NIN fan who claimed to work at the venue, expressed disappointment that security did not remove the disruptive attendee, citing tour security’s authority over local staff. “This was the first time I have ever seen some tw*t single-handedly ruin the ending of a Nine Inch Nails show,” the fan wrote.
Other commenters on the thread sympathized with the experience, debating whether the situation highlighted a failure of concert security or simply the unfortunate reality of live shows where one disruptive person can sour the atmosphere for many.
Nine Inch Nails have not commented publicly on the alleged incident.
