According to his death certificate obtained by The New York Times, Ozzy Osbourne passed away as a result of a heart attack.
The death certificate lists the late Black Sabbath frontman’s cause of death as “out of hospital cardiac arrest,” “acute myocardial infarction,” and “coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction.”
The 76-year-old had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, but did not reveal it publicly until 2020.
Osbourne’s death on July 22nd came just 17 days after he performed a farewell concert alongside the original members of Black Sabbath.
Hours after he passed away, Osbourne’s family released a statement breaking the news, writing:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
