Two years after the success of his 2023 EP “Crossroads,” Paul Maged is back with his latest hard rock single “World War Infinity.”
Written and produced by Maged, and mixed and mastered by Chris Sheldon (known for his work on Foo Fighters’ “The Colour and the Shape”), “World War Infinity” is a hard-hitting political anthem that is not afraid to call out power-hungry individuals who purposely sow chaos for their own benefit.
“This song is a sign of the times,” Maged says about the track. “It’s about authoritarianism, the destruction of progress in the name of power and greed, and the lasting hope that we the people can unite together to save humanity. WE are our only hope.”
Driven by thunderous drums and searing riffs, “World War Infinity” captures the spirit and raw power of 1980s metal and hard rock, honoring the bands that defined the era while still managing to sound fresh. Layered with ripping solos and a dynamic arrangement, the instrumentation matches the intensity of Maged’s message.
The fast paced nature of the song and Maged’s grit-filled vocals evokes a sense of urgency, calling the listener to attention, as if sounding an alarm against tyranny.
While sonically “World War Infinity” is an electrifying fusion of nostalgia and modern rock sensibilities, the song’s message couldn’t be more timely in the face of today’s political unrest. Maged’s lyrics offer a fiercely critical look at the problems he believes are plaguing our society, pointing a finger specifically at the rulers of the world.
Opening the track, the lyric “They pray on the chaos and plant the seeds of their revenge” sets the stage for his searing commentary.
Using his defiant voice, Maged channels his rage into intense, raw, emotional songwriting.
With biting candor, Maged delivers lines like “They need you, they feed you, exactly what you want to hear” and “They plan to shoot you up with fear,” reinforcing his unflinching condemnation of manipulation and fear-mongering.
Despite serving as a blistering critique of authority, “World War Infinity” offers a beacon of hope to its listeners, if only “we rise together” and confront the forces that seek to tear us apart.
With “World War Infinity,” Paul Maged proves once again that he’s unafraid to blend raw musical power with fearless social critique. The track stands as both a nod to rock’s rebellious past and a rallying cry for the present, solidifying Maged’s voice as one that refuses to be silenced.
