Former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese has responded to the band leaving him off of the artwork and cover of their MTV Unplugged live album release.

Dave said, “It was a five piece band. Shame, shame. After that show as well as after the SNL show, I remember Stone thanking me for keeping us together. Sometimes I wonder how they sleep at night. This is one of those times.”

KM73780 posted on the Ten Club board, “I’m not sure you’re even allowed to talk about Dave here in The Porch. It’s a shame because, although Matt is one of the best drummers in the world, Dave and Jack were greats fits for the Pearl Jam sound.”

On2Legs wrote, “I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that the public is not privy to the real background on why Dave was let go and that those circumstances still impact how the band handles things like this now and might justify why he was left off the release.”

2 Feign Reluctance chimed in, “Let’s get Dave his square. Right in the middle. Plenty of space. OP, aren’t you a Photoshop whiz? Hit us with some amended artwork! Brady Bunch style!”

On2Legs added, “If Some Kind of Monster was a Pearl Jam doc, the part of Dave Mustaine would be played by Dave A.”

JT167846 chimed in, “And his part in History of the Eagles would be played by Don Felder, and in Back and Forth by William Goldsmith. Difference? The other guys got to say their piece in the official docos.”
