Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready hinted at a future Aerosmith announcement in a new Twitter back and forth with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith after her and Smith were photographed with Steven Tyler at an Aerosmith ‘Deuces Are Wild’ show in Las Vegas.
McCready first tweeted, “Just Announced! @FTMSeattle has added a 2nd show on Friday, May 10th with @RHCPchad #Chad Smith & Friends opening! Act fact because this one will likely sell out fast!

He then asked, “Hey @RHCPchad, any hints as to who your “friends“ are? Anybody have any guesses?”
Smith responded, “Hendrix and Elvis confirmed so far…”
McCready shot back, “Would be fun to jam with @IamStevenT. Can you make that happen?”
McCready tweeted his photo with Smith and Steven Tyler.
Tyler’s tweet had said, “PROPER PRE-SHOW “JAM” @RHCPchad AND @MikeMcCreadyPJ AT MONDAY’S SHOW…YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHO’S GOING TO SHOW UP AT #DEUCESAREWILD ((WILL THE REAL WILL FERRELL PLEASE SHOW UP))… WHEN ARE YOU SHOWING UP? 📷@KatBenzova.”
McCready has played with many legendary singers including Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, and Layne Staley. Steven Tyler would be an incredible new one to add to the list, so hopefully Chad Smith can get it done!
