Perry Farrell confirmed that he overdosed on drugs during his time in Jane’s Addiction multiple times in a new Metal Hammer interview. Farrell and bandmate Dave Navarro struggled with heroin addiction in the past, but both are now clean.

Farrell said about his worst drug experience, “It was watching somebody who I did drugs with get a big cyst on their arm and they had to go to the hospital. So it wasn’t really anything that I actually went through. I’ve woken up from overdoses quite a few times, but I didn’t feel anything, so I really can’t count that as a bad experience. It hurts worse when you see someone that you care about in pain.”

Perry also recently discussed Carl Reiner after his tragic death, “Oh No ! Carl Reiner, one of the greatest talents and kindest individuals in this world has past. Revered in his life time as a gracious man who led us into the Golden Age of television with his wittiness and humorous script writing. What 98 must have felt like? What a man!”

Farrell also posted on his Instagram on Thursday, “LA Beaches are closed for the 4th amid the germ-spike. What does everyone think? Right decision to play it safe?

To mark the news… we added Lexicon Devil by THE GERMS 🦠 to our Songs 4 Apocalypse playlist 🎵 Link in Bio.

What do you think about all this? 2020 certainly continues to give us a lot to consider each day. #LGBTPlus #BeachesClosed #TheGerms.”
