Perry Farrell breaks his silence
In July, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro filed a lawsuit against Perry Farrell, accusing him of assault and battery following an on stage altercation during the band’s recent reunion tour. This comes after news that Farrell will return to the stage with The Doors’ Robbie Krieger and other big names for the first time since the Navarro brawl and his onstage meltdown, after speculation he may be done.
Farrell has now filed an answer to the suit, with People reporting that the frontman denies Navarro’s allegations.
“[Farrell] denies each and every allegation in the complaint, and [further denies that Navarro] has been damaged in any way or in any amount whatsoever,” the document, filed on Monday (Sept. 8th), states. “[Navarro] fails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against [him], [he has] unclean hands, and failed to exercise reasonable care and diligence to mitigate [the] alleged claims and damages.”

The answer also states that Farrell – who claims he acted in “good faith and without malice” toward Navarro – is asking for the lawsuit to be dismissed, for Navarro to pay his legal fees, and for the guitarist to not be awarded anything from the lawsuit.
Navarro’s legal team issued a response of their own to Farrell’s answer, with Navarro’s attorney Christopher Frost telling People:
“The lawsuit speaks for itself. So does the video. By responding in this way, Mr. Farrell is not taking any formal legal step to stop the litigation. This is consistent with the fact that they have taken no affirmative steps to advance their claims, whether serving discovery or otherwise, and it is consistent with the strength of the claims by Dave, Eric [Avery], and Stephen [Perkins].”
Navarro and his Jane’s Addiction bandmates Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins are suing Farrell for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract following his onstage outburst during a Boston show in September 2024. They are seeking at least $10 million in damages.
