Perry Farrell’s wife Etty has addressed rumors he is suffering an alcohol meltdown.

She wrote on Instagram, “Unfortunately, that bottle of wine is more of a prop nowadays. I have gotten angry at him multiple times, that he would leave a beautiful bottle of wine 3/4 full on the stage, when I would’ve loved a glass after the show. Spinning out. The most devastating mental health of all l’ve been with on with him since 97.”

“watch it again, Slow Motion. Dan the stage manager had Perry pinned down. He was bent over. I didn’t even see Eric there until someone pointed out to me .. When Perry gets upset at somebody, he doesn’t switch targets.. He was so angry at Dave that he going after him ..
As for hitting woman?!? WTF?!?!? Perry, if you know him, may it be a man or a woman, has always said that he’s is the kindest, gentlest, human being.

But I do agree with you. He has been under tremendous stress, sadness, and frustration since the beginning of the year, especially when he’s on tour. I do have an appointment with a neurologist next month”

“not alcohol. Perry is not a drinker. I am. The wine bottle has become more of a proper nowadays.. It is very, very seldom he drinks more than a third of the bottle… I know, because sometimes when it is a really good bottle of wine, I would get mad at it because he would forget to take it off the stage with him so I can have a glass afterwards”

“I’m not blaming Eric. I just didn’t think it was necessary for him to put Perry in a headlock and started punching him then walk away nonchalantly as if nothing happened. I would have wanted him to help de-escalate the situation and get in between the both of them.”

“He’s not drunk. The bottle of wine is more of a prop now – most of the time, there would be 3/4 of a bottle left in the bottle and I would get mad because he would forget to bring it back with him into the dressing room so I could enjoy a glass too.. He comes home every night with a sore throat and tinnitus.. he has really, really worked on his vocals and concentrating on his notes. Unfortunately, he just cannot hear himself to self correct. But you are right, if everyone on that stage would do their jobs properly, the sound would’ve been amazing.”

“I was very clear and stating that Perry was the aggressor”

“not misdirected. Trust, Perry has had numerous conversations with the monitor engineer. He can control what goes into Perry’s in ears, but he cannot control the player’s stage volume .. Perry has his in-ears already maxed out to ten, in order to hear a bit of his own voice (hence tinnitus) Each player has the ability to turn their own volume up through their instruments and their stacks.”

“I wasn’t there that night. But I was told that that night yes Perry did a terrible show. He took accountability and apologize to his band for it. I was gone for one week and I heard that he had deteriorated pretty badly mentally while I was away… so I couldn’t speak for that night.”

“you are wrong. Perry always tells people that I care about bringing the band back together more than he does. I understand their contribution to alt rock and a whole generation of music lovers, the impact of this iconic band that even he sometimes underestimates. Go above and beyond to take care of them and protect them. in better days they used to call me their mother eagle.”
