Presidents of the U.S.A.’s Rock Legacy

Not voting for Biden or Trump?-VOTE Presidents of the U.S.A.! While we’ve come to the peak of the presidential campaigns, and arrive at Election Day in November, we may want to consider a third candidate, our wild and crazy guys, the Presidents of the United States of America. Yeah, you remember them, that 90’s alt. rock Seattle band with Chris Ballew, Dave Dederer and Jason Finn, who released those infamous songs, #1 modern rock single “Lump” and top 10 “Peaches”. Recall those infamous words of wisdom, “Peaches come from a can/they were put there by a man/ in a factory downtown,” or “Lump lingered last in line for brains/the one she got was sorta rotten and insane/she’s Lump, she’s Lump, she’s Lump, she’s in my head…”.

28 Years of Presidents of the U.S.A.

These are just intellectual examples of how this 3rd candidate, the Presidents of the U.S.A. are extremely concerned with the environment, especially factory peaches, and displays healthcare concerns about Lump, the lump on the couch- the couch potato girl. Yes, this candidate is very worthy of the Oval Office.

28 years ago, Bill Clinton got re-elected as U.S. president, but days earlier the Presidents were ready for election week releasing their 2nd album II. It was an album that reminded us of the beginnings of quirky awkward 80’s alternative rock that had a sense of humor. Like they’re debut, this album was filled with a tongue-in-cheek style with songs like the great single “Mach 5”, “Volcano” and “Lunatic to Love”.

Songs are relevant to running USA

Many of their songs are crucial to running this country. The band cover important matters on songs like “Puffy Little Shoes”, “Toob Amplifier”, “Froggie” and “Supermodel”. They have grand vision like on “Basketball Dream”, and plan to build a brand new city; more info on that is in the song ‘Bug City’. Once the city is built, they will give us more of their philosophies on life-some of these were found on their triple platinum, Grammy-nominated self-titled debut, (and demo album ‘Froggystyle’) which featured songs like “Kitty”, “Candy” and “Boll Weevil”. Most importantly they strive to be naked and famous-which happens to be the name of one of their songs. With this type of resume, I don’t see how we can not vote for this candidate.

Third party rock candidate

As a 3rd candidate, The Presidents may not have received as much support for their campaign endeavors but they do have supporters. Their “Cleveland Rocks” track was the theme song for that TV series “The Drew Carey Show”-foreseeing the Cleveland Cavilers’ championship this year, along with the Cleveland Indians World Series run, and Weird “Al” Yankovic covered “Lump” with his song “Gump”-one of his best videos, combining the movie with the Presidents’ track. This band is here to melt your heart.

So whomever you vote for this Election Day; it may be Joe Biden, it may be Donald Trump, but know that The Presidents of the U.S.A. may be the candidate for you.
