Chris Cornell & Anthony Bourdain Conspiracies Debunked

When someone such as Chris Cornell is as known as they are and they pass unexpectedly; there will be tons of theories that will sweep the internet and word of mouth. That’s exactly what happened after his death and now, the theories are back again seemingly making this full circle.

On social media, the suicides of celebrities or public figures are sometimes exploited to advance a narrative.

A Facebook post last year began spreading online spoke about Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ better known as Avicii, Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, chef Anthony Bourdain, and Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell and how their deaths are all tied together

The posts state: “Isn’t it interesting that Avicii, Chester Bennington, Anthony Bourdain, & Chris Cornell all committed suicide while working on a documentary called The Silent Children about widespread pedophilia/trafficking… but the project was cancelled after Cornell’s death?”

This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.

Medical examiners ruled the causes of death of all four men as suicides. There’s no evidence that they were killed, much less for their involvement in a movie about pedophilia, as this post suggests.

As for the film – yes, it is a film that was supposed to exist, but none of the stars above had any part in the film. More so, the film was nixed in 2017 before any of the above stars passed away.

Theories can be fun to romanticize, but more often than not, they seem to not crack up to much once all of the actualities are shown and lined up properly. If anything, these theories can sometimes hurt friends and family and it’s better to leave it alone if it’s going to be touched at all. Believing in something is one thing, but not listening to evidence is another.
