Josh Homme told News.com.au that Queens of the Stone Age’s new album will not include any guests, which means Dave Grohl will not appear on the album, despite being photographed in the studio with Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes and Homme. It appears now that the duo were just visiting Homme.
The source reports: “Homme didn’t want to give away release details but did confirm there would be a new single before the [Australian] tour [in July].”
“And [he] did reveal one secret. There are no guests on the QOTSA album, which means no cameo from occasional band member and Homme mate Dave Grohl.”
Homme also discussed his wrist injury, stating that he has pushed himself too hard in the past.
“We have been hitting it hard when it comes to my body and it’s always, ‘We will deal with you later.’
“I had surgery on my wrist once before and four days later, I was on tour in Australia. My doctor called me a dipshit. I had a problem with my tendon, it was very difficult for me to flip the bird for a while.”
Queens of the Stone Age recently released a teaser for their new album on Twitter. The teaser features a new logo and says ‘Coming Twentyfive.’ Many fans are speculating that this is teasing the release of the lead single off their new album. If ‘twenty five’ means a date this month, that would mean April 25th. If it is the beginning of a countdown, then it would mean the single will come on May 1st, which seems more likely.
