Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello recently wished Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell a happy birthday, and praised him for booking RATM on a Lollapalooza tour.

“Happy birthday @perryfarrellofficial! Love ya buddy! From first seeing @janesaddiction sitting on a grimy rehearsal room carpet off Melrose to prowling the alleys and the stages of Hollywood together for YEARS, from standing waist deep in a dumpster in the 9th Ward of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina (Perry was resplendently dressed) to rocking Sing Sing Prison (Perry was also resplendently dressed), from Perry giving RATM our first big look at Lolla to crazy crushing throwdowns at the Hotel Cafe, Perry is a very special friend, a very special person, and a very special artist.”

Tom also recently posted, “Maximum Firepower. Brand new episode of MAXIMUM FIREPOWER out now! This week @PerryFarrellOfficial and I talk about the exploding alternative rock scene in the 90s, and reminisce about the time he asked my band Lock Up to IMPERSONATE @JanesAddiction on stage. Check it out now wherever you listen to podcasts or at the link in bio.”

Tom Morello opened for Jane’s Addiction and Nine Inch Nails on their 2009 NINJA tour.
