Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis Reveals What ‘Quite Young’ Female Group Is ‘A Well Oiled Machine’

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis discussed his love of the Chili Peppers’ current opening act, Babymetal, an all female group, in a recent Absolute Radio interview.

“I heard that maybe they’re going to be one person short tonight, because she’s home taking exams, and she’ll be here tomorrow. They’re quite young, and talk about a well oiled machine. They are like a choreographed masterpiece.”

The members of Babymetal are Moametal, 17, Yuimetal, 17, and Su-Metal, 19.

He also discussed making music videos.

“Videos are tricky in this day and age, because probably one billion of them have been made. So as a format, it’s a bit done, so it’s kind of hard to invent new stuff. When we first started, it was a blank canvas, there hadn’t been that many videos made. So now it’s tricky, we look to other little bits of magic. We just did one for ‘Sick Love,’ which is all animation.”

He added, “We did a ‘Go Robot’ video, where we sort of recreate the Saturday Night Fever storyline. I was naked in the video, just for fun.”
