Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has revealed an emotional photo celebrating the 30th anniversary of the band’s first album with John Frusciante, Mother’s Milk. The 30th anniversary of the landmark album is on August 16th. A funny story about Frusciante screwing up “Scar Tissue” was recently revealed.
Smith said, “My reaction when he told me this record is almost 30 years old ! Ear candy music Missoula, Montana.”
Frusciante would go on to record four more albums with the Chili Peppers during his time in and out of the band over the next 17 years, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, By the Way, and Stadium Arcadium. Frusciante left the Chili Peppers for good after their 2007 tour, and he has not played live since. He was spotted with Flea at a boxing fight at Staples Center in Los Angeles last year, his first public outing with a former Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate since 2007.
