Rob Reiner and his wife Michele’s official death certificates recently confirm details about their passing.

As revealed by PEOPLE on Tuesday, December 23rd, the documents confirm that Rob and Michele died of “multiple sharp force injuries” inside their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14th, caused “with [a] knife, by another.” The time between the onset of injuries and death is listed as “minutes.”
The death certificates indicate Rob was found first, at about 3:45 p.m., and Michele, who is listed as “widowed,” was discovered at 3:46 p.m.
They have since been cremated, according to the death certificates. PEOPLE previously reported that their bodies were repatriated to the family on December 19th.

In a statement shared Dec. 17, Jake and Romy said, “Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
Nick Reiner was charged with first-degree murder in the k*llings of Rob, and Michele Reiner. The charges saw a special circumstances allegation of multiple murders and an additional allegation that Reiner used a knife in the killings, which took place sometime early Sunday morning.
