Reports suggest Rob Reiner said he was “petrified” his son Nick could “hurt” him, in his final words at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party before he and his wife were found dead on Sunday.
Rob Reiner was petrified
One of the A-listers in attendance at the late director’s memorial service on Monday left the rest of the mourners in tears as they revealed the final words Rob allegedly spoke at the party, as per the Daily Mail.
“I’m petrified of [Nick]. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’m afraid of my son. I think my own son can hurt me,” the unspecified celeb recalled Rob said, according to a source who was at the funeral service, which was held at comedian Albert Brooks’ mansion in Los Angeles.
Many of those in the crowd at the event reportedly became emotional after hearing the star’s words. “The Princess Bride” star Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, as well as comedians Larry David, Bill Hader and O’Brien were also in attendance at the sorrowful affair.
In the hours leading up to Rob and Michele’s deaths, the couple was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with Nick, who allegedly “freaked out” and had a massive blow-up at O’Brien’s Christmas party on December 13th, a source confirmed to The Post.
“They had had an argument at Conan’s holiday party, and Rob had been telling people that they’re scared for Nick and scared that his mental state was deteriorating,” a lifelong friend of the family told the outlet.
