Wildhearts frontman Ginger Wildheart recently attempted suicide, and he wrote on Twitter that he was sent to a ‘nut house.’ Wildheart was deeply affected by the deaths of Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, writing several tweets when Bennington died about mental health issues. Below you can read the tweets he has released since his suicide attempt last week, and also a series of tweets he posted in July following the death of Chester Bennington.
He also retweeted a tweet that said, “You know when Chester Bennington died, and everyone said ‘we should have done more…’ Let’s do more for Sinead O’Connor while we can.”

Well the suicide attempt failed. Fucking gutted. Currently sectioned for who knows how long.

I won't fail again.

I don't go around assaulting people. And I didn't walk away, I was hoping my suicide bid would have worked. https://t.co/xbaglxTO3O

Suicide chump. Frank Zappa said it right, there is nothing worse.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 8, 2017
The problem isn't temporary.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 8, 2017
Anyway, I just want to get ahead of the gossip.

My life has become unmanageable under medication.
My latest med, Duloxetine, has damaged and destroyed so much.
Beware of Duloxetine.— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 8, 2017
From joyous days to darkest nights
Retain the memory
That human's can't be trusted
Nor should they ever be.— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
An hour into a jigsaw puzzle – to slow me mind down – when a warden came up and said "wouldn't bother, there's a piece missing".
Cuntland.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
"Can you give me something to calm me down?"
"No"
"Should I just bang my head against a wall?"
"Well that's up to you"
Cuntland

I can't even have socks and underwear. A guitar might be going too far.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
Funny how repeatedly banging your head against a wall gets results.
THIS is NOT better than death.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
Heard rumours that the new shows are being cancelled?!
If true, this is NOT my decision. I'd have liked a celebration of my music w/guests
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
My life is a fucking mess. This shit can't end quick enough. Who the fuck could miss this fucking place?
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
I won't be out of the nut house by next weekend, or possibly for a very long time. But I didn't sanction the cancelling of any fucking dates
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
I could really do with a gun.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
Surviving suicide.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
Mate, I'm in a fucking nut house. How many times do you think I can wank and drink tea?
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) August 9, 2017
Thank you for all your well wishes. It would take years to thank you individually, so a big one of these for you all. pic.twitter.com/8wJppttwdm

Always keep depression in your thoughts, and help someone if you can. This shit continues to ruin lives all year, all day, every day.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 25, 2017
Everyone in rock music, sufferers or not, need to do more to educate people. Imagine if depression got as much coverage as Dave Grohl?
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
I'm too small of a figure. This issue needs people like @Slash, Dave Grohl, et all.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
My fear is with the fans. Who do they go to when their heroes give up?
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
Agreed, but rock stars are notable public figures. The condition is the same, but suicide prevention needs a large public profile.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
Now isn't the time to get arsey, now's time to think what you could do to help. What MORE you could do. Depression is a killer. Pls think.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
Suicide should NOT be an option. pic.twitter.com/fuyos26VcU
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
Absolutely. And in 2017, this stigma is equivalent to being labelled a witch.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 20, 2017
Anyone who talks of suicide as 'cowardly' deserves to live in the slime of their poisoned ego. God should be ashamed he gave you a mouth.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 21, 2017
I often say I wouldn't wish depression on my worst enemy. I take it back. I actually do wish it on anyone who refers to suicide as cowardly.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 21, 2017
Insensitivity has a knock on effect to those who might be suggestible/vulnerable. It's good to know this if openly grieving to your fans.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 21, 2017
Another human being loses a longterm fight against a sickness they didn't ask to be born with.
Shit people love this, don't they? #suicide
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 21, 2017
Anyone considering suicide 'cowardly' illustrates the kind of intolerance and ignorance that makes leaving this world an attractive option.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 21, 2017
Nope, you lost a fight you'd been fighting your whole life. No one has kids expecting to leave them. Mental health kills just as cancer.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 22, 2017
He walked through years of pain. He was finally defeated. Anyone living with depression fights harder to live than anyone could imagine.
— Ginger Wildheart (@GingerWildheart) July 22, 2017
Until the medical profession understand the gravity of this illness then suicide will take the lives of fathers, mothers, sons & daughters.
