Smashing Pumpkins & Pixies Confirm 2021 Performances

Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, My Chemical Romance, Run the Jewels, and Coheed and Cambria are set to play at Riot Fest on September 17-19, 2021 at Chicago’s Douglas Park. L7, Sublime With Rome, Taking Back Sunday, Circle Jerks, Lupe Fiasco performing The Cool, Gogol Bordello, Toots and the Maytals, Vic Mensa, Fucked Up, Best Coast, Les Savy Fav, PUP, Beach Bunny, Alex G, Dirty Heads, Big Freedia, New Found Glory, Boston Manor, The Sounds, and Living Colour.

The Pumpkins were set for a ‘Rock Invasion 2′ tour this year, along with performances opening for Guns N’ Roses at North American stadiums. Both tours aren’t happening in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the band are set to release a new album this year.

Ryguybeer commented on the Smashing Pumpkins Reddit, “Doesn’t Riot Fest often get bands to play entire albums? Would be pretty sick if they got SP to play Gish for its 30th anniversary!”

Sleepwalkchicago said, “That’s what they’ve been doing with the headliners for a few years now. If they managed to get SP to do that, I would be very surprised…and buying a ticket.”

Travinyle2 wrote, “That would be cool but I’ll bet anyone there is noway in hell Billy would ever be convinced to play a specific album set that wasn’t his own decision.”
