Stone Temple Pilots have mostly stayed quiet since Dean DeLeo’s estranged wife Jenn accused him of abusing her last month, but band members have done interviews and spoken onstage in recent days, but nobody has addressed the allegations.

At a recent show in Japan, Jeff Gutt mentioned bringing the fans to Hawaii with them.

Dean DeLeo then said, “With your bonus you got, you’re going to buy everybody a ticket back.”

STP recently performed for United States troops, and are set to kick off the Revolution 3 tour soon with Bush and The Cult in North America.

Jeff Gutt was interviewed by Digital Journal earlier this week. The Dean DeLeo story was not discussed.

On balancing fatherhood and a music career, Gutt said, “It’s hard to be away, but thank God for technology, since it allows me to face-time my son. I talk to my son as much as I can. We just make it work.”

Gutt listed multi-Grammy winner Norah Jones as his dream female duet choice. “I love Norah Jones’ voice. It just melts me,” he said.

He revealed that his pre-show ritual is meditation. “I don’t do vocal warm-ups, but I try to find a quiet place to have a moment for myself to clear my head,” he said.

Gutt defined the word success as “survival.” “Survival seems like success to me,” he explained.
