The multi-Grammy award-winning rock band the Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins recently passed away at the age of 50 last Friday at a hotel in Colombia. Fans have not recovered from the shock they received from the tragic news. The band frontman, Dave Grohl also broke down. Now, as per the reports of Daily Mail, the casket carrying the body of Hawkins was flown back to the U.S. on Tuesday (March 29).
Pictures of Taylor Hawkins’ casket have been revealed
Daily Mail published images from the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota of the casket being loaded onto a chartered Boeing 757 plane. Pictures were captured of a plain, black casket containing the musician’s remains being loaded onto the band’s tour plane after it flew from LA to Bogota to collect him. The chartered 757 jet took off from El Dorado Airport just after 2pm local time on Tuesday and was landed around 8 p.m. PT back in LAX.
Foo Fighters tour manager Gus Brandt reportedly remained in Colombia after the surviving members of the band returned to the U.S. a day after the 50-year-old musician was found dead at the Four Seasons Casa Medina.
The cause of death is still not officially confirmed, but there are reports. ‘According to those close to him, the death could be related to the consumption of drugs.’ The Daily Mail reported this alleged statement. He had a history of drug abuse.
White powder ‘similar to cocaine’, and hallucinogens, were allegedly found in the five-star Casa Medina hotel room of Hawkins. Renowned Colombian journalist Luis Carlos Velez, the Bogota-based director of radio station FM recently claimed that a police officer who entered Hawkins’ room had told prosecutors he saw a ‘cocaine-like’ white powder.
Hawkins was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame last year as a member of the Foo Fighters.
