Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins reportedly died from heroin and a cocktail of other drugs, Semana magazine reports. Local authorities in Colombia confirmed the rocker “died from an overdose of heroin mixed with antidepressants and benzodiazepines.”

The Office of the Attorney General of Colombia said in a statement that stopped short of confirming his death as an overdose, but said toxicology tests preliminarily found 10 different substances, including THC (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids.

Fletchx01 commented on Foo Fighters’ Reddit, “Mixing benzos with opiates is the way bigger issue that SSRIs. There are some concerns when combining anti depressants with seratonin acting drugs resulting in seratonin syndrome but not common. Usually deaths resulting from mixing opiates and benzosd are a result of from being too sedated for your body to breathe not a cardiac issues Taylor had. An article I saw mentioned the possibility orfcocaine which super hard on your heart. But a herioin addicting involving needles can leave you with a weak heart from a fungus or plaque growing on your in your heart valves. This is all speculation only time will tell.”

ThinkOutsideTheTV added, “The thing that’s unusual is the chest pains, that’s not something correlated with an opiate overdose, even when in combo with other substances like benzos and alcohol. It may have been the case that using a variety of substances long term took a toll on his heart, the only way we would know he had chest pains is if he alerted someone to that, rather than him being found unresponsive as you would usually see in these scenarios.”
