Ronnie Wood’s Son Jesse Details £1,000-a-Month Finances in Court
Jesse Wood, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, has drawn attention after describing a surprisingly tight personal budget during a recent court appearance in London. The 49-year-old told magistrates he is currently unemployed and living on roughly £1,000 a month, outlining an annual income of about £14,000 as he sought leniency over a court bill linked to a minor driving offence.
In its report, Daily Mail said Jesse told a West London court he was surviving on savings despite being the child of a musician often estimated to be worth around £150 million.
The piece argues the disparity reflects how the Rolling Stones’ earnings are structured, particularly around publishing. Ronnie joined the band in 1975 after many of the group’s biggest royalty-generating songs were already written, with publishing revenue flowing primarily to songwriters Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, while Ronnie’s long-term income is more tied to touring, performance fees and later work.
It also pointed to Ronnie’s past financial instability during periods of addiction and cited comments attributed to his former wife Jo Wood about times when school fees were difficult to cover. More recently, Alternative Nation has tracked fresh Stones headlines, including claims that the Rolling Stones reportedly cancelled a 2026 tour as questions continue around the band’s next moves.
The courtroom disclosure has underlined how even famous rock dynasties can involve complicated finances and strict family expectations. For Jesse, the testimony suggested a lifestyle far removed from the stadium-scale wealth often assumed to extend automatically to every member of a legendary band’s inner circle.
