Rolling Stones De-Age Band in “In the Stars” Video
The Rolling Stones have unveiled a new music video that digitally turns back the clock, launching the first visual from their upcoming album Foreign Tongues. The clip is for “In the Stars” and arrives as the band continues to roll out details of the project, which is scheduled to land on July 10 via Capitol.
Pitchfork reported that the “In the Stars” short was directed by Francois Rousselet and features de-aged versions of the Stones playing a house party alongside actor Odessa A’zion, including a moment in which she licks a deepfaked Mick Jagger.
The video marks the first clip tied to Foreign Tongues, positioned as the follow-up to 2023’s Hackney Diamonds. The new album is set to feature contributions from Sir Paul McCartney, Mr. Robert Smith, and Mr. Steve Winwood, with Mr. Andrew Watt returning as producer.
Late drummer Charlie Watts is also slated to appear on several tracks that were carried over from the Hackney Diamonds sessions, underscoring the band’s effort to bridge eras on the new release. The rollout began earlier this spring when posters promoting a “Cockroaches” pseudonym surfaced in London’s Camden Town ahead of a limited release tied to that alias.
In a press statement, Keith Richards described the sessions as a focused return to London, calling the month-long work period “a month of concentrated punch” and stressing that the record is ultimately “all about the enjoyment of it.”
