Tool recently performed live in concert at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. One of the fans, 500Republica posted on Reddit about what transpired during the show.
Maynard James Keenan insulted a fan at the show
The fan revealed, “Maynard was way, way more talkative than when they played PPG in 2019.” The fan also revealed how Maynard called up a fan dumber than his seven year old. Maynard already used this insult at another recent show.
Capricorna went on to boast several Tool shows he has been part of. He recalled when Meshuggah opened for Tool in Detroit and “the Grudge in that set was sick.” He also noted attending a show at Cobo Hall Detroit when “they had two guys climbing up and down these ropes on both sides of the stage.”
The list doesn’t stop there as the fan recollected witnessing Maynard James Keenan-fronted band at pine knob amphitheater in Michigan. From the show, “wings for Maria, part two was an out-of-body experience.”
The fan revealed how he was present at State theatre in Detroit , and in Pontiac Michigan Phoniex Center outside theatre back in 95. He disclosed a hilarious action from the Tool frontman as claimed he “pulled his pants down infront of crowd it was so rowdy up at the front I lost my tennis shoes and a few other times I can’t remember.
Tool recently released “Opiate,” the nearly ten-minute rework of the title track of their 1992 EP, to streaming services. It starts as the “Opiate” which sounds familiar but with more modern production and a few other new twists. However, it shifts into the psychedelic territory of their 2019 comeback album Fear Inoculum. Tool are also celebrating Opiate‘s 30th anniversary with a Blu-ray featuring a Dominic Hailstone-directed short film and accompanying 46-page art book.
