Trent Reznor Halts Nine Inch Nails Over Fight
Trent Reznor briefly stopped a Nine Inch Nails concert in Glendale, Arizona, after an incident in the crowd escalated during the band’s final song of the night. The interruption came late in the set, with Reznor addressing a disruptive fan as security moved in to restore order before the performance continued.
Reznor paused the show two lines into “Hurt” on Friday, March 6, to break up a fight and confront the person causing trouble.
“Hey, we’re not here for this sh*t man. Come on,” Reznor said from the stage. “There’s enough bullsh*t happening out there, we don’t need it happening in the f*ck here.” He then waited as security removed the fan from the crowd.
The moment comes as Nine Inch Nails continue a high-profile run of dates, with recent attention also on the band’s lineup after Nine Inch Nails introduced a new member after a departure earlier in the cycle.
After the disruption was handled, Nine Inch Nails restarted “Hurt” and completed the performance. The episode underscored Reznor’s insistence on keeping the focus on the music, particularly during a song that traditionally closes the night on an intense and personal note.
