On February 10, 2025, a fatal collision occurred at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona involving two business jets. A Bombardier Learjet 35A, arriving from Austin, Texas, veered off the runway upon landing and collided with a parked Gulfstream 200. The incident resulted in one fatality and four injuries. Two individuals were transported to trauma centers, one was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, and one person remained trapped in the wreckage during initial rescue efforts.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the cause of the crash, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible failure of the Learjet’s left main landing gear. The runway at Scottsdale Airport has been closed indefinitely as authorities conduct their investigation.
Notably, the Learjet 35A involved in the accident is owned by Vince Neil, lead singer of the rock band Mötley Crüe. Neil was not on board at the time of the crash. His legal representatives have stated that he extends his thoughts and prayers to all affected and expresses gratitude to the first responders.
This tragic event adds to a series of recent aviation accidents in the United States, prompting increased scrutiny of air travel safety.
