Foo Fighters and Weezer wrapped up their Australian tour this week at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. The two bands collaborated at the end of the show, with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo joining Foo Fighters for a cover of “Detroit Rock City” by KISS.

Consequence of Sound reported in early January that Sleep Good has transformed Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from a Grunge rocker into a summery pop punk anthem that sounds similar to Weezer and Green Day. He used a major scale instead of F minor.

According to Sleep Good’s reimagining of the song and musical history, Nirvana would have been known as Nirvirna, the single would’ve been titled “Teen Sprite” and their hometown would’ve been located much further down south of Seattle in the sunny San Diego community of La Jolla.

Alternative Nation prefers the old version, despite being big fans of Weezer and Green Day. Their style just doesn’t fit this hard rocking Grunge classic, just like Nirvana’s wouldn’t fit Weezer and Green Day. Love the effort and work put into this though by Sleep Good!
