Nemeth shared his thoughts on how the band’s initial retirement announcement affected him and other fans. He expressed disappointment about the circumstances surrounding their supposed final performance.
“They lied to us. Yes, they’ve broken my hearts many times over. But the fact that I was fell like into the pro wrestling. ‘I’m retiring, but I’m coming back in six months.’ They did an 18-month tour… And their final show… they did the same damn show. They said, ‘Later, we’re out.’ And that was it. And I we were like, we had tears in our eyes. It was beautiful,” Nemeth said.
Although he initially had frustration with the retirement, Nemeth acknowledged that the experience ultimately brought positive outcomes for him and his friends.
“They’re like, ‘Hey, we signed this contract with a lawyer.’ They’re like, ‘We blew it up. Screw it. We’re back.’ So, that’s on me for believing a pro wrestling retirement. But my friends and I and the Crüe crew get to go check ’em out even more. So, we’re happy to be able to see ’em,” he continued.
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has also addressed retirement speculation following the band’s Las Vegas residency shows. He responded directly to fan concerns in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Following the conclusion of their Las Vegas residency concerts, some fans began speculating that the legendary rock band might be calling it quits after more than 40 years of performing. One fan reached out to Sixx directly with their thoughts.
A Motley Crue fan wrote to Nikki Sixx: “I think these are your final shows. Thanks for giving us 40+ years. Enjoy family time.”
Sixx was quick to clarify the situation and put an end to the retirement rumors.
“Whoa slow down,” Nikki Sixx responded. “We never said that.”
Nikki Sixx also recently addressed concerns about potential tensions within Motley Crue after taking time away from the band. He shared his thoughts in a statement posted on Nikki Sixx Official Facebook.
The statement clarified his reasons for prioritizing family time following the band’s Vegas residency shows.
“Please don’t misconstrue my dedication and passion for spending more time with my 5 wonderful kids and granddaughter as anything personal or having a negative tone towards my band,” Sixx said.
“It’s my last chance to be present.”
He further highlighted the importance of not repeating past mistakes with his family.
“The idea of missing all the magic I missed with my older kids would be heartbreaking to repeat that for Ruby and the whole family,” he continued.
“Love my family first and foremost but it’s all about balance. We’re enjoying a break from work before heading into the 4th quarter work grind. Love and music forever. I know you’re gonna like what’s cooking for now and some more Crue shows next year.”
