Zack De La Rocha was recently spotted outside of a Los Angeles FC’s Major League Soccer game. The video shows it’s Zack, but he denies to the fans it’s him to avoid attention.
In 2022, Zack De La Rocha suffered a leg injury while he was onstage performing with the Rage Against The Machine at Chicago’s United Center. In a statement, Zack had confirmed that he sustained a “severe tear” in his left Achilles’ tendon. He had revealed that 8% of his tendon was still intact. He also said: “It’s not simply a question of being able to perform again, but extends to basic functionality going forward.”
A YouTube video from the show revealed how the Rage Against the Machine frontman limping through a performance of “Bullet in the Head” after tearing his Achilles’ tendon. It was reported that Zack repeatedly attempted to stand throughout the show but could not put any weight on his leg. After finishing the set while sitting on a monitor, he was carried offstage by crew members. Rage Against the Machine then canceled the rest of its North American tour after the singer suffered the injury.
Zack’s injury wasn’t the only problem the band faced on tour. In a video clip, during Rage Against The Machine’s 2022 reunion tour, Tom Morello was accidentally tackled by a security guard, pursuing a fan who jumped on stage during the band’s concert. The fan could be seen running up one side of the stage, as a security guard chases him. But the guard then runs into Morello — instead of the fan — and sends the guitarist flying off the stage.
Earlier this year, Rage Against The Machine, consisting of Zack de la Rocha, bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and Wilk, announced that they were parting ways for the third time.
Rage Against The Machine was mostly absent during their induction ceremony into the last year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Morello was the sole member on hand to accept the honor, and noted that the group has “differing opinions on a lot of things, including being inducted.”
Zack De La Rocha has been away from the public eye for quite sometime. However, he was spotted in last year’s Pro-Palestine Rally in Washington.
