Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan was interviewed by pro wrestling icon and AEW wrestler Chris Jericho on his podcast, Talk is Jericho. Here, McKagan revealed to the Fozzy frontman why the death of country legend Glen Campbell from the terrible Alzheimers disease devastated Guns N’ Roses lead singer, Axl Rose. AlternativeNation transcribed McKagan and Jericho’s comments.

Duff: Glen Campbell passed and we were in Wake Forest I think playing the football stadium there and Axl [Rose] came in saying: “Man, I’m really sad, [over] Glen Campbell’s loss,” his demise, and like he had watched that documentary.

Jericho: Oh yeah, I’ll Be Me.

Duff: Yeah, so we said, let’s try doing this song. [Wichita Lineman] Could we do this? Listening to this song, that band, I think it was the LA Wrecking Crew, who recorded that – man there’s a lot going on.

Jericho: Right! You don’t notice until you listen to it.

Duff: That was a challenge, it’s a tough little song to do. Hopefully we add more little stuff like that, add and subtract as we go along, you know?

Jericho: You guys are still going. You have more shows announced, at least there are a few in the states announced, headlining festivals here.  You guys just keep adding shows.

Duff: Yeah man its just very – I can’t even explain. It’s very positive. The inner workings of that thing and the best thing to come out of this whole thing was just the three of us talking again.
