Guns N’ Roses have lost a big name on their 2021 tour. Wolfgang Van Halen has announced the cancellation of two shows as the opening act for Guns N’ Roses on their tour.

Wolfie wrote, “Mammoth WVH will not be performing tonight in Missoula, MT, or Monday night in Commerce City, CO, out of an abundance of caution due to a member of our touring personnel testing positive for Covid-19.

“All band members and other crew have tested negative at this time. We apologize to those fans we won’t be seeing over the next couple of shows.

“Thanks to everyone for their support and we can’t wait to be back when it is 100% safe for everyone to do so.”

Wolfgang told Ultimate Classic Rock about meeting Axl Rose, “He [Axl] told me that he really liked ‘Don’t Back Down,’ and that he really liked the video. He gave me a hug. I couldn’t believe it. He was a really sweet guy.

“The other day, Duff [McKagan, bass] came to our dressing room and he’s a sweetheart as well.

“He was telling us how Axl said that ‘Don’t Back Down’ is just straight fuckin’ rock ‘n’ roll and I thought that was the biggest compliment I could have heard. It still feels like a dream.

“It was amazing to see their whole show with the video and the lights. It’s been so long, I haven’t seen a live show in forever. There’s nothing like it.”
