Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus announced in a new KSHE95 interview that the band intend to make a new album, and hinted that some work has already been done it. He said the band hope to release a new album ‘very soon’ and a new song could be out by the end of 2019. Alternative Nation transcribed Fortus comments.

He said, “The [Not in This Lifetime] tour is done. Three years, done.”

The host mentioned Axl Rose discussing what is ‘next’ at the final Honolulu show earlier this month. Fortus said that ‘next’ thing is a new record.

“We are going to try to do another record and get it out soon.”

He later said, “We’re hoping to get one out very soon.”

The host said he didn’t see the band rushing a new album.

Fortus said that he thinks the new record “will happen faster than you think.”

Fortus said he thinks the album will be good.

“How could it not be [good]? The band’s so great right now.”

The host asked if a new Guns N’ Roses song could be out by the end of 2019.

Fortus responded, “It could definitely happen.”

The host asked, “Do you already have stuff?”

Fortus cryptically responded, “Maybe.”

He was then asked if the band would record their new album in California.

Fortus answered, “I would think so.”

He also said Guns N’ Roses don’t plan on touring until the new album is ready.

“Slash is busy. We’re not going to do any more dates for a little bit.”

“It depends on whether or not we have a new record out. If we have something out, we can tour.”

“I think [Axl Rose] has got a lot to write about.”

The new album will be the first new album to reunite Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan since the Use Your Illusion albums in 1991.
