Josh Homme Criticized For Past Behavior Threatening Fans

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has been heavily criticized on social media since kicking photographer Chelsea Lauren, with many bringing up some of his past on stage rants, including at a show in 2008 when a fan threw something on stage and he used offensive language in response.

Photographer and founder Jeff Kravitz has even bet $10 that Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme will go to rehab following kicking Chelsea Lauren last Saturday at a performance in Los Angeles during KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas.

“$10 says tour cancelled so he can go to rehab to fix his issues. Doubt that will help. You can go visit him there.”

He added, “On second thought I’m not sure there’s rehab for being a douche.”

KROQ’s Nicole Alvarez tweeted, “I hope Josh Homme has a come 2 Jesus with his obvious demons & realizes that most importantly , he is a father. His kids require a role model. He needs to do better. Period. I’m looking forward 2 this being the wake up call he needed 2 get 2 a better place. Dick move. Do better.”

Kay, the teenager probably shouldn’t have thrown something up on the stage.

But there was absolutely no need for Josh to behave that way towards him.

Josh, you need help in regards to controlling your temper.

And probably other things, as well.

I just turned a friend on to QOTSA yesterday. He couldn’t believe how good they are. Rock music does heal folks, as Josh said.

Josh Homme doesn’t like stuff thrown on stage. There are many videos like this one. Personally, I think it was a low blow to post this vid (for AI, as well as the musical, whoever he is).

Why do I feel like he’s constantly ranting onstage about how sick he is & how shitty he feels?

    • Trovoid

He is probably hungover all the time.

And that is rather telling on his part.

The photographer incident is completely separated from the 2008 tongue lashing. Even their drummer looked like he was dying in that 2008 clip Josh has some bandage on his hand and is doing the best he can. Throw stuff towards people on stage and you get what you deserve.

Personally, if I was a musician and someone threw something at me, I’d order the 5-7 people in the crowd around the individual to beat the individual to within an inch of their life.

So someone tell Josh to keep the assaults verbal, not physical and he should be ok.
