Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk has just undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus, ahead of the band’s reunion tour.

Wilk wrote on Instagram to announce the surgery: “Torn meniscus knee surgery going down today. Got a lot of hard notes outa this knee.” He’ll be able to walk without a knee brace and crutches in 2 to 3 months.

RATM will tour in 2022, and the band’s fans discussed their genre in a new Reddit topic.

MaxRebo74 posted, “As I get older I see why some bands reject a genre classification at all. It’s just a record company’s way of marketing music. RATM play life altering great music, doesn’t matter the genre. The fact that some people don’t like them because they play their own music or because Zack raps and doesn’t sing just means corporations have done exactly what they set out to do: break down society into groups so they can more easily sell us their shit.”

ziggyp1799 said, “It’s bands like rage that make me love music, here we are questioning what genre to put these guys in, it’s easy to say rock with elements of hip hop but there’s no one playing the guitar like Morello man… Really want to give them their own genre.”
