Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer revealed if he still jams with John Frusciante in a new interview with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready on Pearl Jam Radio on SiriusXM. Alternative Nation transcribed the following quotes.

“I played when I was 17, 18, and 19 with Bob Forrest from Thelonious Monster, we had a band called the Bicycle Thieves, so I’ve just known these guys for a long time.”

“He’s been friends with them since the early to mid 80’s, then John Frusciante and I became really good friends and made a lot of records together. In 2007 they asked if I would join them as sort of the backup guy so they could pull off some of their newer stuff live. I guess when John decided he was kind of done and didn’t want to go out anymore, the rest of the guys weren’t, and asked if I would step in.”

When asked if he still plays at all with Frusciante, Klinghoffer said he doesn’t. “No, we haven’t played since then. We haven’t done anything. He’s sort of just doing his own thing.”
