Sinead O’Connor Moves In With Ex-Smashing Pumpkins Member

Co-written by Brett Buchanan

Sinead O’Connor, who was recently missing for a day, has moved in with former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Matt Walker. Walker drummed with the Pumpkins on their 1996 and 1997 Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness world tour dates. The Daily Mail Online reports that the singer moved to Wilmette, Illinois, at the start of the year and moved into the large suburban home of Walker. He lives there with his wife Charlotte and children.

Charlotte Walker, a massage therapist, told Daily Mail Online she could not talk about O’Connor’s life with her family or her health. ‘I’m sorry, I can’t say anything. I’m sorry. I’m sorry,’ she said.

Neighbors of the Walkers said they had seen O’Connor walking near the $1 million property, but none suggested they had any cause for concern.

In other Matt Walker news, Garbage have announced on their Facebook page that drummer Butch Vig will miss the first leg of Garbage’s 2016 tour in support of their upcoming album Strange Little Birds.
Vig is suffering from acute sinusitis and has been given strict doctors orders to not travel. Vig released the following statement:
“I’m super bummed I’m going to miss the first leg of the tour. I want to thank our fans for understanding and I can’t wait to reconnect with you later this year.”

The drummer sitting in for Vig is Matt Walker, who has also played with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Filter, and Morissey.

  • Felonious Punk

O’Connor is nuttier than a christmas fruitcake and Walker must be out of his mind letting this crazy bitch anywhere near his wife and kids.

    This was pretty epic though..

She was savaged for this, but she was right about the Catholic church.

I feel badly for her. She’s a great singer, but her mental and emotional problems clearly rule her life. I think she has some similar issues as Courtney Love. People seem to embrace CL for some reason, but not Sinead.

      • Felonious Punk

She *is* an incredible singer, I can’t deny that. I own at least three of her albums. I just wish she’d get a grip on some things, mentally. I definitely wouldn’t want her around my family, given her state of mind these days..

        • Jedrzejczyk

I agree a nut job. She is very nice I bet on her knees.

The fuck does that even mean, or have anything to do with what we’re discussing here?

I think he may have been agreeing that Sinead is cray-cray 🙂

        Shes a Whack a Do!

  • Valhalla

Maybe this will give her some much needed stability?

  • Truth

I think she is a cute girl. Not too many women can pull off the shaved head and still be attractive. No need to be unkind to her. Sometimes people with mental illnesses just need understanding partners, spouses, and support systems to bring out a good side in them and be protective against this type of confining stigma.

    • Beefcake

She’s cute in an “oh my God what the fuck happened to that poor mentally unstable girl and who approved the day pass?”

      • Truth

Lol. I think she is cute in a pixie, Winnona Ryder kind of way.
