Stone Temple Pilots released video of an iconic show with Scott Weiland on the ‘Core’ tour to mark the anniversary of an MTV Spring Break performance in Florida.

Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo, and Eric Kretz wrote, “28 years ago today we played MTV Spring Break Rocks in Daytona Beach, Florida while we were on a European tour. Yes, a European tour. We flew from Europe to Florida, did the show on the beach and back to Europe the next morning to resume the tour. Our gear arrived just in time to do the gig in Daytona. Ah yes, those were the days.”

STP later played ‘MTV Spring Break Rocks’ again in 1997 on the ‘Tiny Music’ tour.

A fan named Richard commented, “I remember about 20 years ago seeing you guys at a free show right on the sand in Miami Beach, Florida. Total awesomeness! And then at the Family Values Tour with Linkin Park in Fort Lauderdale!”

Shawn added, “My friend John got after show party passes here in Omaha at Aksarban in 1994 the purple album. Got a chance to get all your autographs. I was so starstruck and didn’t know what to say. But the next night we followed you down to Kansas City sandstone and saw the show a second time. I still tell that story today. My friend John has died from addiction as well. I miss him and Stone Temple pilots every time.

Gave up tickets last year because of COVID. Please come back to Omaha soon. Thanks STP.”
