Maynard James Keenan has finally stopped trolling Tool fans and offered a major update on the new album.

“Started getting music files from the boys w the word FINAL in the title a few months ago after 11 years of begging. That in theory means the tracks wont change out from under me while I’m trying to write stories and melodies to them. In theory. Still waiting for the FINAL on 1.

…but way ahead. Words & Melodies 100% DONE on all but 1. Someday we’ll track them. Long way from the finish line, but at least we’re closer. Meanwhile new @aperfectcircle release on 4/20. #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking #theresyourupdate #eattheelephant #aperfectcircle2018”

Dominic Hailstone was recently interviewed by by Yutani, and he revealed that he is working on a brand new Tool music video.

“A video for Tool that should be coming out later this year. Adam Jones gave me complete artistic freedom so the only constraint was the budget, we had a lot of fun figuring that out. Other than that Alien Covenant as I was working with friends I hadn’t seen in over 15 years. That was special.”

Hallstone recently worked on Alien: Covenant.

Maynard James Keenan has reacted to news of Tool playing their new album (sans vocals) for Behemoth frontman Adam Nergal Darski, Paul Aemaio, and Morgan Agren.

A fan sent Maynard Paul Aemaio’s review of the album, where he stated, “Yes it is true… the new Tool record is done… (vocals still in progress) and the world is just not ready for this… beyond grateful to have just witnessed an almost full band performance of it with @nergal69 and @morganagren at The Loft. Really no words for this… now heading to really cap this Cali trip in style with @meshuggahband … ??”

Keenan appeared to think Aemaio was lying about the album’s music being done, as he wrote in response: “Nothing. Is. Tracked.”
