Smashing Pumpkins Debut Cover Of The Cure’s “Friday I’m In Love”

The Smashing Pumpkins debuted a cover of The Cure’s “Friday I’m In Love” on Wednesday in Madison, Wisconsin. Billy Corgan took a break during the song, as James Iha served as lead vocalist. During the summer ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright’ tour Corgan took a break while Iha would front the band to perform “Blew Away”.

The Smashing Pumpkins also debuted new songs “Knights of Malta” and “Travels” live off of Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun., and performed their Depeche Mode cover “Never Let Me Down Again” for the first time since 1995. They also performed “Dross” live for the first time since 2000, and played “Heavy Metal Machine” live for the first time with James Iha since 2000.
